League Format

Teams to consist of 6 players or more

Minimum of 4 players to constitute a match.

A League Match will consist of :-

    • 3 x Blind Pairs – 501 – Best of 3 Legs
    • 6 x Singles – 501 – Best of 3 Legs
    • 3 x Pairs – 501 – Best of 3 Legs

Team marked * on the matchcard throws first in the 1st & 3rd legs (if needed)

Home Team to select their player(s) first before the away team before every game (except the Blind pairs where it makes no difference)

For the Pairs (blind and captains pick), whichever player within a team throws the last dart in a leg the other player leads off that team in the next leg ie if playerA hits the double, playerB throws first for his team in the next leg so that there is constant rotation during the game

2 points for a win, 1 point for a draw

Where a team has only 5 players the last game of the blind pairs/pairs can be played with 1 player but will forfeit a turn every other throw.  If only 4 players, the last game of the blind pairs/pairs is forsaken as a 2-0 loss

Where a team is unable to field 6 players in the singles, a bye(s) will be awarded to the opposing team as a 2-0 result in the final game(s) of singles.

No undue delays between games so the match can finish at a reasonable time

All players to be present before 9pm (8pm for the blind pairs) to be eligible to play unless agreed between captains prior to the match

Players awarded bye(s) to be entered on the match card for the purpose of the aggregate.

A match to be played in full irrespective of the scoreline

Playing of an unregistered player will result in an 12-0 forfeit, a £10 fine and a 2pt deduction.

Captains to ensure 170’s+ & High Shot Outs ( 100+ ) have been entered and match card checked and signed, entries will not be allowed retrospectively unless agreed by both captains. 170+s & HSOs to count only in the league.

In the event of teams finishing level on points at the end of the season, the overall games difference will be the first determining factor.  If teams are still level after taking this into account, the head to head record will be the deciding factor (inc games won in home and away matches).

Home team captain to be responsible for sending in match card.

Match cards to reach the Secretary within 48 hours of the game, by E-Mail or text or preferably WhatsApp, or a £10 fine and 0-12 score will be imposed

The Secretary and the opposition captain to be informed if any team cannot fulfill their fixture
Any teams not attending without notifying the league without sufficient notice, a 0-12 result will be imposed and a £30 fine to cover food or travel costs. TWO STRIKES AND YOU’RE OUT – If a team cancels their match (and cannot agree re-arrangement with the opposition captain) more than once the team will be removed from the league and all previous results/stats from their matches cancelled

A minimum of 2 matches to be played before a player is deemed eligible to participate in the competitions held after the halfway point of the season.  In competitions, it is the losing players responsibility to chalk the next game.  If losing players become unavailable and do not find alternative players to chalk the next game, they will be BANNED from playing in the next competition (carries over to the next season)

Knock Out entries to reach the Secretary 1 full day before the competition being held

For the Pairs competition on Finals night, if one of the players is not available to play for ANY reason another player can step in from the same team as long as they are signed on, have played in at least two league games and didn’t play in the Pairs comp previously

For both Pairs and Singles on Finals night, if a player (Singles) or both players (Pairs) are not available to play for ANY reason, then the players beaten in the previous round can step in and take the place of the missing persons

Matches to be played in a friendly and sporting manner, appropriate action will be taken should the League receive complaints regarding aggressive, abusive or anti social behaviour.

There is now a players charter and by signing on for any team all players will be representing not just their team but the league as well.

Anything else not covered in the rules will be decided at the committees discretion
